Obama Attacks Republicans Personally on Jobs Act
Has President Obama
finally begun putting up a fight? He was fired up in Texas Tuesday,
calling out House Majority Leader Eric Cantor by name: “Yesterday the
Republican majority leader in Congress, Eric Cantor, said that right now
he won’t even let this jobs bill have a vote in the House of
Representatives,” Obama said. “I would like Mr. Cantor to come here to
Dallas and explain what exactly in this jobs bill does he not believe
in.” Taken with other signs—such as Obama’s criticism
of Bank of America for a $5 monthly debit-card fee—it seems Obama is
honing a combative, populist message for the campaign. Only 58 percent
of Democrats think Obama will be reelected, according to a Washington
Post-ABC News Poll. Congress however, is even more unpopular, with just a
 14 percent approval rating—lower than 1994, 2006, and 2010, when the
controlling party lost elections.
