Police Riot in Oakland, Rick Smith radio show feat Joshua Holland

About 10 minutes before airing Joshua and hundreds of Occupy Oakland protestors were tear gassed by a police force which clearly overstepped their boards. He noted that "these people are more angry. More radicalized than they were afew hours ago." He notes that "I've seen WTO protests in china and mexico and this is by far the most inept police response."

  1. Oakland Police Use Rubber Bullets, Flash Grenades and Smoke Bombs to Evict Occupy Oakland
Zaid Jilani, ThinkProgress: "Late last night, Oakland police, under orders from the city, began surrounding the Occupy Oakland encampment in preparation to oust the protesters from Frank Ogawa Plaza. Approximately an hour ago, hundreds of Oakland police officers raided the camp. Dressed in riot gear, the police used rubber bullets, flash grenades, and gas canisters to forcibly evict and/or arrest the demonstrators who remained in the plaza. The Occupy Oakland Twitter account live-tweeted the raid."
