Protesters Take On Bain Capital-Owned Bloomin' Brands in Tampa
On August 27, five miles from the Republican National Convention
being held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, more than 100 activists from
around the country descended on the corporate headquarters of Bloomin'
Brand. The company, which controls Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill
and several other restaurant chains, was taken over by Mitt
Romney-founded Bain in 2007 and has since been active in efforts to
lower minimum wages for restaurant employees in Florida and Arizona.
