Putin Accepts Presidential Nod
He
already served two terms as Russia's president, from 2000 to 2008. Then
he became the prime minister for the past four years, but that wasn't
enough—not even after being widely accused of being the puppet master to
the official president, Dmitry Medvedev. Vladimir Putin accepted his
party's nomination on Sunday to run for the top job again next year. As a
confirmation of the anti-Western rhetoric that he's been known for over
the years, Putin also promptly accused foreigners of funding his
political rivals.
