Zealots Marching off to War

Manifestly, Tea Party fundamentalists pick and choose which scripture to obey. It's fine to be your Brother's Keeper as long as he's literally your brother. So much for rich Biblical metaphor. And while "vengeance is mine, saith the Lord," must He not have excluded violent interventions against evil abortion doctors, terrorist suspects, gay people, or whistleblowers whose great subversion is telling the truth?
I predict more odious varieties of Social Darwinism from the smiling, death-obsessed Bachmann-Perry brigade. After all, failure for religious extremism is not an option. And if a rightwing president prevails, let Iran be warned: batten down for the never-ending, neo-con quest for survival of the fittest armies. Having given up delusions of imposing democracy or Christianity, even modern industrialism, imperialists must "naturally" fall back on the craziness that were God not on their side, He would never have blessed the U.S. of A. with mighty firepower to defeat all enemies. Right is might and vice versa, just like the Good Book implies, sometimes.
I fear if the minority zealots today driving the rightwing of the right side take power, we may well look back at the Bush-Cheney era as the good old times -- a painful, conflicted interim before the empowered theocracy of rapture takes command. Where else does the marriage of religious fundamentalists, Tea Party anti-government forces, and reactionary, super-rich princes have to go?
