  1. Following the Murder of Troy Davis, Keith Olbermann and Liliana Segura Discuss the Death Penalty

On last night's Countdown, Keith Olbermann chatted with The Nation associate editor (and former AlterNet editor) Liliana Segura about the death penalty in the wake of Troy Davis' execution. Segura, a longtime anti-death penalty advocate, made some great points about our nation's capital punishment system. For instance, when asked about the "Hitler exception" -- whether we should support the death penalty for especially dangerous people like Osama bin Laden and Adolph Hitler -- Segura noted, "The reality is that the system we have is not a system that actually executes the worst of the worst." Indeed; instead, we execute the Troy Davises of the world.
