Delegates Officially Nominate Romney

Mitt Romney has officially become the Republican presidential nominee after New Jersey cast all of its ballots for him, giving him more than half of the delegates gathered in the hall.
The large screen on the platform in the convention hall read “Over the Top,” as the crowd chanted “Mitt! Mitt! Mitt!” The many screens in the hall showed pictures of Mr. Romney and his family.
The moment was entirely expected after a divisive primary process in which Mr. Romney slowly but effectively pulled away from his rivals.
